Main Projects ,Activity and Achievements

The District Rural Development Branch / District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) of Ramgarh district, Jharkhand has been actively working in the areas of rural infrastructure, livelihood promotion,  women empowerment, watershed management,  irrigation, and poverty alleviation.

Major Projects of Rural Development in Ramgarh District

1. MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act)

Key activities under MGNREGA include:

• Rural road construction
• Pond excavation and renovation
• Check dams and water harvesting / Sock Pit structures
• Plantation and afforestation
• Land development for farmers
• Employment generation for rural households
• Well Dug/ Trench

2. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) / Abua Awas Yojana (Jharkhand)

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin is a flagship rural housing scheme of the Government of India aimed at providing pucca houses with basic amenities to homeless and economically weaker rural families.

Key activities under PMAY-G include:

• Selection of eligible rural families through SECC data and Gram Sabha verification.
• Priority given to houseless and Kachha house families.
• Direct financial support provided to beneficiaries for construction of pakka houses.
• Assistance transferred through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
• Geo-tagging and online monitoring of houses.
• Stage-wise inspection and verification.

Major Achievements of PMAY-G

• Large number of rural families received permanent pakka houses.
• Reduction in kutcha and dilapidated housing.
• Better sanitation, safety, and health conditions.
• Increased social dignity and security for beneficiaries.
• Houses often registered in the name of women or jointly with family members.
• Strengthened financial and social security of women.
• Local employment created during construction works.
