Prachin Shiv Mandir
The ancient Shiva temple at Kaitha, Ramgarh (Jharkhand), is a remarkable historical and religious site situated along NH-23, approximately 3 kilometers from Ramgarh town.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple houses two *Shivlings* that are worshipped together. Local belief holds that the temple is around 350 years old, having been commissioned in 1670 AD by King Dalel Singh of the Padma Kingdom. Its architecture showcases a beautiful blend of Bengali and Rajput styles; features such as the temple dome, the cave-like section, and the two-story structure make it unique.
The temple complex houses idols of Lord Hanuman and other deities alongside the *Shivlings*. An ancient pond within the premises—whose water never dries up—is considered miraculous. It is believed that the water offered to the *Shivling* possesses the power to cure ear ailments. Facilities for worship, *Prasad* (sacred offerings), and water are available within the complex. Large crowds of devotees gather at the temple during festivals and auspicious occasions.
Located just 3 km from Ramgarh town and connected to NH-23, the temple is easily accessible. Devotees can reach the site directly by private vehicle, taxi, or bus, ensuring a hassle-free journey.
Due to its historical significance, miraculous legends, and magnificent architecture, the ancient Shiva temple at Kaitha stands as a major center of faith and reverence for the people of Ramgarh and the surrounding regions.
